Better questions. Clearer evidence.

Trading ideas are easy to find. Understanding what they actually require—and whether their claims stand up to scrutiny—takes more work.

GoAlphaX is being developed as a research and education publication for self-directed investors and traders worldwide. Its purpose is to make trading strategies easier to understand and their claims easier to examine.

What we focus on

Our planned coverage spans systematic stock and ETF strategies, options education and practical backtesting. We are especially interested in the gap between an appealing trading story and a strategy with rules precise enough to test.

That means asking about losing periods as well as winning ones, capital requirements as well as headline returns, and realistic execution as well as idealised entries.

What the name means

  • Go: move forward with informed questions and a practical understanding.
  • Alpha: investigate the pursuit of outperformance against an appropriate benchmark.
  • X: explore through technology, quantitative models and experimentation.

How to read our content

Educational explanations describe how a strategy works. Historical studies investigate how specified rules would have behaved under stated assumptions. Neither establishes what will happen next or whether a trade suits your circumstances.

When reviewing an idea from a video, article or other source, the aim is to assess a claim fairly, identify missing information and contribute original analysis. Linking to a creator does not imply their endorsement of GoAlphaX.

Our guiding question is: What would we need to know before trusting this result?
